About the company
We aim to delight our customers and global consumers with healthy melons to improve lives. Through our flagship brand since 1983, Mike's Melons is present in more than 33 countries around the world in Asia, Europe, and North America.
Because of the vision that Miguel Molina sowed in this company more than 40 years ago, today customers know and enjoy Mike’s Melons star brand of Agropecuaria Montelíbano, a member company of the Agrolíbano Group, which records in its beautiful history a beginning full of great challenges, where perseverance, hard work, and dedication have brought success,
wealth, and pride to one of the poorest rural regions of Honduras.
Each of our farms located in Apacilagua, Montelibano, El Porvenir, and Santa Rosa are in areas recognized for the quality of their land.
About the melons
The tropical climate guarantees us unique melons with incomparable quality - we sow in more than 3,000 hectares, which produce more than 80 million melons per season. Not only do we grow and produce our products ourselves, but we always innovate looking for new varieties and new flavors in melon. The result is an excellent fresh melon.
Agrolíbano is a proud Honduran business group that produces melons with quality and responsibility under solid principles and values. Agrolíbano is a company that looks to the future by offering new alternatives to differentiated markets and that we stand out for our high-tech systems. In 2016 we received the Rainforest certification, in the same way our production farms have international quality certifications such as BRC, SMETA, Field to Fork,
GRASP.
Under the principles of respect and care for the environment, we constantly implement actions and mechanisms to make the most of the materials used and mitigate waste, in addition to strictly complying with international standards in environmental matters.
About the export of melons
Choosing the perfect partner for each market is an intrinsic element that our commercial atmosphere encompasses as a worldwide exporter. The storage and shipping of our products is a primary focus because we pack melons that retain their freshness and flavor within the reach of our consumers, regardless of distance. To accomplish this, our balers pack all orders according to the customers' specification. We have also highly customized the processes of arrival of melons to the packinghouse, visual selection of the melons and quality control of the finished product, and to our top paying customers around the globe, we even implement the use of NIR (Near Infrared) technology that allows us to guarantee the brix of each fruit.
